Rapid brand transformation for a digital media company
After acquiring Federated Media, LIN Digital wanted to debut its portfolio of digital brands and ad tech capabilities at the IAB Digital NewFronts, but its brand story and design quality was not up to par. LIN Digital was composed of multiple brands with distinct brand identities, and we needed to quickly create a system that could bring them all together. I introduced the hexagon, a core design element that represented the individual companies and could be stacked to create a "hive.” To make a splash for LIN's first NewFront, I created a theme for the event centered around the word "Hello." This gave us the flexibility to celebrate all 5 distinct media properties while also telling a cohesive story.
As the Group Creative Director for all 5 of Media General's digital companies, next I led the rebrand and website update for ONE Mobile. The brand was out of date, busy, and the content was overly complex, for a simple mobile ad platform. I moved away from the garish brand yellow to a more sophisticated muted blue and black color palette and reduced the site from multiple pages, to one conversion-focused landing page.
