Creative direction for web3 brand & website

Co:Create needed a parent company that was separate from the product brand. Working with A Hundred Monkeys we created the name Gesso Labs, inspired by the primer applied to blank canvases that serves as the foundational layer for all other materials. The Co:Create protocol was designed to support blue chip NFT projects and creators, so the name had a symbolic meaning. Both brands and websites needed to launch simultaneously, so I commissioned the agency Serotonin to work on Gesso. I wanted the Gesso brand to feel connected to Co:Create, but also have its own look.

Working collaboratively with the agency, we narrowed the direction down from ten ideas to two. Once I felt they got the logo right, I worked directly with their designer on the content for the site. The final visual identity shares the simple type-forward design style, similar primary color palette and elegant lettermark logo.
